| Downhill/4X If you believe that you have what it takes to race competitively in World Cup Downhill events, then you need to put the Red Bull down and start doing some sit ups. We’ve been building downhill bikes that win Downhill World Championships (two times now - Fabien rules), and it’s the same bike that will win you a beer at the bottom of the hill. Our commitment to racing has created a culture here that thrives on listening to World Cup athlete input. Our downhill racing program is one of the top in the world, and this effort has given us the ability to design one of the best downhill bikes ever made. Stab Supreme | Stab Deluxe | Howler Out Of Bounds The Clump is a key element in the development of our Out of Bounds series of bikes, which has been on the forefront of freeride technology since the beginning. With a focus on excelling riders’ capabilities, we responsibly improve technology in a way that only enhances the rider’s ability, and never chases industry trends. That’s the way we like it. Stinky Primo | Stinky Deluxe | Stinky | Coiler Deluxe | Coiler | CoilAir Supreme | CoilAir Dirtjumping John Cowan has been spearheading our Dirt Jump program for some time now. John is the playing captain of the Kona Clump, and contributes to the design of all of our Dirt Jump bikes. You can also see some of Cowan’s handy work at the Kona Jump Farm in Whistler, and at his BackYard Jam in San Diego. If you see him at a Kona Bike Park, pick up a hoe or a shovel and get busy. Moving dirt isn’t always about big diesel Tonka toys. New with The Clump in 2005 was Paul Basagoitia, who proved that he belonged by taking 1st place again in Whistler’s premiere Crankworx event. John and Paul are the reason why Kona and Dirt Jumping are synonymous terms. Cowan | Stuff | Scrap | Shred Women’s (Lisa) Last year we introduced the new Kona Lisa bikes for women. This particular line of bikes addresses the unique anatomical needs women have with high performance bicycles. Details such as stems, top tube length, grip and saddle comfort, all contribute to how a bike “feels” to a particular body type, and in this case, women. New this year is our support of the all women’s Velo Bella-Kona cycling team. With these racers’ input, we are able to continually improve these models, and progress women’s design. Lisa Supreme RD | Lisa RD | Queen Kikapu | Lisa DS | Kula Lisa | Lisa HT BackCountry Dual All day epic rides require bikes that can handle everything from descending nasty, loose shale to the effort of a sixty minute singletrack climb. Our Back Country series is a cross breed of sorts, combining the thoroughbred agility of our cross-country race bikes with the increased travel and durability of a Freeride bike. If you want to cover most of your bases with just one bike, these are the bikes. Dawg Supreme | Dawg Primo | Dawg Deluxe | Dawg CrossCountry Dual We have a long-standing history of designing dual suspension cross country bikes for grueling races at some of the sports highest levels. Long standing due to the fact that we decided early on that the most relevant innovations come from the top racing talent in the world. Right now, the Kona / Les Gets Factory Team uses the race proven Kona 4-bar rear suspension for all of their Cross Country Dual Suspension needs. The King | King Kikapu | Kikapu Deluxe | Kikapu Nine | Kikapu CrossCountry Race Racing bikes on the World Cup for just one year puts demands on equipment that most of us can’t muster up in a lifetime. Since our early beginnings, our Cross Country line has been defined (and later refined) by the top racers on the World Cup race circuit. They beat the hell out of things and we stay close by their side and take a lot of notes. The result has been a heritage of refinement that we’re very proud of, and will continue. Like all Kona bikes, we don’t go chasing design theories down rabbit holes. We simply use what works best, for the best racers in the world. Hei Hei Supreme | Hei Hei | Kula Supreme | Kula Primo | Kula 2-9 | Kula Deluxe | Kula BackCountry HT What started out years ago as a “trail” bike offering has now been elevated to an All Mountain platform. We’ve designed the frames with a Clump Butted Frameset which allows these bikes to hold their ground on more than your average, every day trail situation. Simply put, these Back Country Hard Tails are designed for all day, all mountain rides and conditions. Caldera | Cinder Cone | Blast Mountain Bike An original Kona model (Fire Mountain) that keeps getting better after 19 years of constant refining. We use the same design concept and philosophy as our top-end cross country race bikes to make you as happy as Ryan Trebon when he won his 1st NORBA Cross Country Championship. This might be your first mountain bike (Lana'i) so get ready for some good times! If this is your first Kona, let us show you the Secret Kona Handshake.....known in over 60 countries throughout the World and the Solar System. Fire Mountain | Lana’i Clydesdale Tough Guys need tough bikes. Big Guys need tough bikes. Born from the Clydesdale class, and adopted into other styles of riding, the Hoss series focuses on durability and performance. Hoss Deluxe | Hoss Single Speed 2007 and everybody and their mother now sells a single speed. We’ll just remind you that ours are better. Why? Dewey designed it...that’s why. Unit 2-9 | Unit Road We’ve taken our heritage of road bikes and have since made it into a focus. Like all Kona bike categories, the design process begins with the rider. This year, we’ve teamedup with the Santa Barbara, CA road club Velo Pro, to provide feedback for our designers. King Zing | Zing Supreme | Zing Deluxe | Zing Asphalt What began as a collection of really fun bikes to jam around town has developed into a fairly sophisticated collection of really fun bikes to jam around town. Whether you need the performance of a PhD in your daily commute, or the slow cruise of the bike with the longest model name in the bike industry (Humuhumu-Nukunuku-Apua’A), a garage full of Asphalt bikes will surely get you in a better state of mind. Ph D | Dr Dew | Dew FS | Dew Deluxe | Dew | Smoke | Humuhumu | Paddy Wagon | Sutra Cyclocross It’s been called “Holy Cross” and other names referring to cult like activities, but for our purposes and beliefs, we simply call it Cyclocross. Kona has been a dominant figure in the design and progression of North American Cyclocross and have supported the Kona Factory Cyclocross Team to an outstanding, successful season. Major Jake | Jake The Snake | Jake Kids We view our kid's bikes as if we were a little rider ourselves. Would we want to ride 80lb. bikes with pictures of purple dinosaurs all over the down tube? No. Kona parents demand Kona design and innovation to help their kids become better cyclists. We even have research that shows that kids who ride Kona bikes don’t do drugs, and stay in school...
